THE LAND OF EXTREMADURA
Our Olive Grove

SIERRA CARIJA
These olive groves are the roots and the heart of our project; here lie our oldest trees—many centuries old—which we nurture with the utmost care day by day, ensuring the continuity of our labor for the generations of Nicanores yet to come…
The groves feature a blend of Verdial de Badajoz and Carrasqueña varieties, naturally interspersed throughout.
They are located at the foot of the Sierra Carija, a protected natural area, right next to the Roman dam of Proserpina—the oldest in Spain, dating back to the 1st century BC.
This area is highly cherished by the locals of Mérida, and a true delight for the many pilgrims who visit it as they travel the Vía de la Plata toward Santiago de Compostela.

VALVERDE
Located in the municipality of Valverde de Mérida, just 10 km from our central operations, this is our youngest olive grove, planted by our own hands in 2015.
At this estate, we had the opportunity to apply all the expertise we have acquired over the years to establish an intensive Picual olive grove. We implemented a 7-meter plant spacing and a solar-powered fertigation system designed to optimize our yield without increasing our carbon footprint, thus maintaining a perfect harmony between tradition, innovative cultivation techniques, and sustainability.
